"Robertsbridge Celebrates" A Platinum Jubilee Celebration event for the whole community
Following on from the Robertsbridge Carnival which helped to fund the current Village Hall, it has become a tradition in recent years to hold a free summer event in June for the whole community, supported by the Parish Council. Of course the Covid Pandemic has meant that we have been unable to hold a Summer event in the last two years. This year is different, and the organising Summer Event Group, a group of volunteers led by Dawn Hill from Robertsbridge Village Stores, have planned an extra special event "Robertsbridge Celebrates" for Salehurst & Robertsbridge residents and their friends and families to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
This event is on Saturday 4th June 2022 from 1-5pm. Station Road will be closed so that the event will take place in the train station car park, along the road the whole way from the Village Hall to the High Street, and on the green areas outside the Village Hall, on Jubilee Gardens and Piper's Field opposite (at the end of Willowbank). The Bygone Robertsbridge Memory Trail, supported by Robertsbridge Arts Partnership, will be part of the event. This will be a special walking route with photos and stories of people and places in the village; it will be in place for two weeks. To end the event there will be a Family Disco for all children and their parents in the Village Hall (£2 per child, payable on the door).
For those who use Facebook there is a Facebook page 'Robertsbridge Platinum Jubilee Celebration'. The event pocket brochure is now available in local shops or you can view or print a copy here.
