Jubilee Community Event Saturday 4th June

"Robertsbridge Celebrates" A Platinum Jubilee Celebration event for the whole community

Following on from the Robertsbridge Carnival which helped to fund the current Village Hall, it has become a tradition in recent years to hold a free summer event in June for the whole community, supported by the Parish Council. Of course the Covid Pandemic meant that we were unable to hold a Summer event in 2020 and 2021. 2022 was different, and the organising Summer Event Group, a group of volunteers led by Dawn Hill from Robertsbridge Village Stores, planned an extra special event "Robertsbridge Celebrates" for Salehurst & Robertsbridge residents and their friends and families to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

This event was on Saturday 4th June 2022 from 1-5pm. Station Road was closed so that the event could take place in the train station car park, along the road the whole way from the Village Hall to the High Street, and on the green areas outside the Village Hall, on Jubilee Gardens and Piper's Field opposite (at the end of Willowbank). The Bygone Robertsbridge Memory Trail, supported by Robertsbridge Arts Partnership, was part of the event. It was a special walking route with photos and stories of people and places in the village; it took place for two weeks. To end the event there was a Family Disco for all children and their parents in the Village Hall (£2 per child, payable on the door).

For those who use Facebook there was a Facebook page 'Robertsbridge Platinum Jubilee Celebration'. The event pocket brochure was available in local shops or you could view or print a copy here.Other things going on in Salehurst and Robertsbridge over the Jubilee holiday weekend
